Tsisstssii (Robin)

This "Little Robin" is painted in thin acrylic layers on this 1888 map of the Great State of Michigan. Spending half my childhood in rural Michigan, the State bird was always a welcome sight as it marked the end to the long, cold winters. Tsisstssi is the Pikuni word for this happy little fellow.
